I have hp lasterjet 5 and it connects to Ubuntu 7.10 and works great. I want to network it to some windows computers. It finds it but when test print. all the words are black.

Are you saying that you are sending the printer test page from the Windows machine?

Also, what do you mean by "all the words are black"??
I think the windows printer test page sends in black & white.
Are you saying the works are unreadable? solid blocks?
