Hello guys,

I'm Sean Burns, the co-head of Star Trek TOS Remastered 2.0. To bring everyone up to speed, this project seeks to go further in remastering classic Trek than CBS has recently done. I and others have been very displeased with the video game quality of their work and believe we can do better. That being said, this is not intended to be a thread trashing CBS but rather, a thread to discuss the realm of VFX on Linux and when I post it will be in relation to my project. Other who wish to join can please do so by contacting me through email. This is a serious remaster and aims to be more thorough and surpass what CBS has given us.

I use the following tools:

Blender
Ardour
GIMP
Cinepaint
Houdini (through work)
need Lumiera badly!

PS (my one little jab at CBS)

Mike Okuda is the head of the project and the has a long history of doing graphic design for NASA. On the episode "Assignment Earth" his team, with him as the supervisor, remastered Earth spinning in the WRONG direction. I'm sorry but when your ex-NASA supervisor lets some this like that get by him, and onto the air!!!; your remaster team is finished. Kaput.
