I just acquired a Dell Latitude C600 (circa 2001) from the trash at work. Initially, it had Windows 2000 installed, and the highest resolution available was 1024x768. When I initialized and put Hardy Heron on instead, the highest selectable resolution is 600x800. Any ideas how I can get Ubuntu to display in the higher resolution that was available under Windows?
EDIT: Apparently I didn't google hard enough before making this topic, as it is apparently a common problem. Sorry for newbie-ism. The fix that worked for me was to edit the .conf file, as detailed in this thread: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+question/300
