8.04 Software raid double trouble

I am kicking my *** for a week and still can't figure out how the hell do you boot from one disk when the other is dead. System will boot only if both disks are present. Can't search anymore..... Does someone else have this problem?

I don't do such things, like boot from raid, but I believe in your situation you need to have grub install on both drives... there are hot-tos around that show you how to do this.
