I have a HP nx6320 laptop
T5500, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, 320GB HDD, Intel GMA950/945GM onboard
Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 amd64

Now last time when I installed KDE4 with Ubuntu Gutsy, it made things pretty slow. "Things" refer to everything I did even in gnome. I checked and removed any stray startup packages for KDE4 but that didn't help either. Though I am already using KDE4 with the Suse10.3 I dual boot with, I want to have it on Ubuntu also. Now the question is, does KDE4 installation installs some KDE libs that are initialized on boot which can't be disabled? Though this seems like a peculiar doubt, but I've faced this once.

Thanks in advance.
