Dell XPS 1530 - can't install Hardy Heron

Hi I have a Dell XPS 1530 and everytime I try to install ubuntu the loading bar will go back and forth for awhile and then it will stop and I will get this error 'buffer I/0 error on device sr0, logical block 280821" can anyone tell me what sr0 is? or how I can solve this error?

btw my specs are
2.4 intel pro.
Geforce 8600
and 4 gigs of ram

Sounds like a bad CD copy to me. I have no idea with sr0 is but a buffer I/O error most often happen on CD/DVDs. When you start on the LiveCD try Check CD and see what that says. If you can't even get that far, try burning it again, possibly at a slower speed. Read somewhere in here that that will help.
