Using 6.06 Dapper, I could plug my Nokia n800 into a USB port and its two SD flash cards would show up as removable drives in Nautilus. I disabled autorunning of any programs using the System>Preferences>Removable Drives and Media menu.
Using 8.04 Hardy, the n800 SD cards show up as music players only, preventing access to the multitude of other file types that I actually use on the device. Nokia Internet Tablets are not limited to playing music; they are general purpose devices. I need access to ALL files on the device. The SD cards should show up as mass storage.
The removable media I use most often - CD/DVD and flash - no longer show up on the Preferences menu. Instead, inserting media causes unwanted programs to take over, getting in the way of what I want to do. If I wanted software that took control away from me, I'd run Windows.
How do I get my Nokia n800's drives to show up as the USB mass storage, the way that they should, instead of appearing incorrectly as music players?
