Okay .. with all the fuss about Ubuntu, I downloaded the latest and installed on a desktop with out problems. Now it is completely opposite when attempting to install on a laptop.

I have an aging Toshiba 4030CDT laptop and that I had not trouble installing SimplyMepis on it. monitor resolution no problem and no problem with sound.

I did have to wrestle with wireless, but then who doesn't have that trouble with Linux.

My big question is that once I install Ubuntu on my laptop how do I go about getting the monitor to fill up? How about wireless?

If SimplyMEPHIS can install easily why not Ubuntu?
