Hey everyone. I recently upgraded my computer from using the integrated Intel video card to the e-GeForce FX 5200. Upon booting up ubuntu, I got sent to Low Graphics mode. I was prompted to install the restricted drivers, and I did so, and restarted.

I was still in low graphics mode, so I did some research and followed this guide :

So far all, I can tell that has changed is I have the Nvidia Settings Control Panel thing in my Applications > System Tools. When I start that, though, I get an error saying I am not using the Nvidia X drivers

I've tried the command it gives me there, and then restarted X, and nothing changes.

I'm about stumped, any help would be greatly appreciated.

btw, I'm using Hardy Heron 8.04

thanks,
takamarou

Have you had any luck with this? I might be getting this same card so I was wondering if you were able to get it all fixed.

Thanks man.
