Hi, everyone! =D

I just migrated from XP to Linux again. I couldn't stand using XP. Anyway, I used to use Fruit Loops to make my beats on Windows. Alright, now I got everything I need except for one thing: every sound software needs JACK in order to work. I've tried running many apps such: Ardour, Mixx, LMMS and others. Not a single one works. I got JACK packages installed. My ubuntu distro is UbuntuStudio. So, the question is: does it need a special audio device/sound board? I use only the soundboard bundled with my motherboard.

See you.

You should be able to get jack to run on your motherboard's soundcard. Open: Applications -> Sound & Video -> Audio Production -> JACK Control; this is where you start/stop the jack audio server, and where you make connections to/from other programs and your soundcard (like a super versatile patchbay). For more info, take a read through this help page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToQjackCtlConnections
