Dimension 8400... NOT Inspirion
Yesterday I upgraded from 7.10 to ver 8.04 and when I had rebooted, the ability to use my SB Live! sound card was lost. This has been an ongoing difficulty with many distros over the years but since the card functioned on the previous Ubuntu distro a assumed that it would when I upgraded.
Any helpful hints and direction? Is there a driver that is available in this proprietary world? I would like to have basic sound capability. I would like to be able to use the sound card for ham radio as well.
