anyone knows how to record the sounds that come out of your speaker i downloaded a FLV video file from youtube.com using firefox... everything works fine, both sound and video. but when i try to import it on audacity as raw data or audio file the sound is crackled and messed up... how do i go about recording this sound that i need? and is there a method of just recording whatever sound that my speaker outputs onto a file? i ask because i rather record the sound by what my speaker outputs.

You can use Avidemux to rip out the audio from your clip. Open up your .flv in it, set the audio output format, and go to audio>save. However, I am also interested to know how to record the speaker output (for other embedded flash).

You need to adjust the Capture and/or Mix level in whatever audio mixer you are using. It is probably set way too high. I need to set mine to about 1/4- 1/3 so captured audio is not distorted.

Sound Recorder will record whatever comes out fo your speakers into whatever file you want in any of about 6 different formats.

At least it does for me.

hey thanks man that helped me out tremedously with recording the output from my speakers. i did what u said i used sound recorder and by default "capture" was selected i use the drop down menu and selected "Mix" and it started recording the track...i havent tried adjusting the audacity to a/4 or 1/3 ima try that but this was easier for me. thank u very much works like a charm.
