Hi,

Siemens Desktop,
PIII, 933Mhz
484Mb RAM
Ubuntu 8.04LTS with KDE Desktop (Dual-booting with Win2K)
2No 1.1 USB Sockets (one with ADSL USB Modem attached).
Fitted PCI Card with 5No USB2 Sockets (possibly VIA components)

Advent USB Laser Cordless Mouse

Symptoms in Ubuntu:
When USB mouse plugged into USB-1 socket it doesn't work & causes extra characters to appear/repeat when typing.
When USB mouse plugged into USB-2 (PCI)socket it works for a few minutes then freezes and locks up the whole system.

In Win2K the USB Mouse works fine once Win has loaded an in-house driver for it.

Do I need a specific Linux driver for the mouse? Or for the PCI USB Card - there were no Linux drivers with the card but it does say "plug & play" and I didn't need to install any extra drivers in Windows?

Puzzled!

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
