opendns guide

I am currently a temporary resident at a premier apartment (on behalf of my current company). There is a complimentary wired internet connection.

when i type something in the address bar, either in firefox or opera, opendns guide pops up with search results, by default in my home connection this does not happen, i believe it carries out a google search.

does this mean the network i am on currently is keeping track of my internet business?

not necessary.. the opendns guide usually pops up when you enter an incorrect website link(URL)
