Hello
I have Nexuiz installed on my Vista and Ubuntu 8-04 computers.
However when I fire up Nexuiz on my Ubuntu computer the game askes me to upgrade to the later version of 2.4.4. Seeing as I installed the gave via the Synaptic Package Manager could somebody please explain how I can install the updates?
Cheers

Well you have a few different choices, you can install the latest version of Nexiuz by following this guide: http://ubuntu-sos.blogspot.com/2008/06/installing-nexuiz-open-source.html, wait till it is upgraded in the repositories or finally go to getdeb.net and download the .deb files from there and then install them.

I just gave a pretty in depth response to a newer thread asking the same question: Updating Nexuiz (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=874786).

in linux do you always need to uninstall before you update something?
In windows you can just over-rdie the exsisting program ...does in not work the same?
Thanks again for the fast and very helpful info

In Windows you get a freaken mess of broken files and junk as well as broken updates.
Linux, major changes sometimes have dependency bugs which require you to remove the old version before re-installing but the config files are saved in your home folder so they're safe.

That makes sense, in Windows I use a few programs to clean out the junk ( CCleaner etc..)
Thanks again for the help
