View Full Version : [ubuntu] computer shuting down 2 or 3 times a day...

my computer is shooting down unexpectedly 2 or 3 times a day...how could I find the last commands that was executed before it shutdown....I went thought the logs, but I don't see a log that shows all the commands that were executed....I'm suspecting of a botnet running on my pc or a possible virus...I have running clamav everyday with up to date definitions,
any help appreciated

I'd rather think it's hardware related and not botnet/virus

To follow on from hyper_ch, too much heat and faulty memory are often the cause of a machine shutting down unexpectedly. Judging for your location it can be rather warm in that part of the world, any chance of removing the dust from inside of your kit? If the problem still persists then try running the Memtest option from the grub menu as this will show if the memory is still OK.
