Updates Question

I'm using Hardy Heron, FF2, Thunderbird.

A couple of weeks ago I suddenly couldn't open any links in Thunderbird mail.
I'd been reading up on different "fixes", but none worked, so I've just been forwarding my mail to my Yahoo account to open links. I've been checking on TB every day.

Now, suddenly Thursday evening TB works fine again, and I haven't changed a thing in two weeks.

My question, could there have been something in one of the recent Ubuntu updates that corrected the problem?

The only recent thunderbird update I found was on May 2nd, 2008.

Anyway, glad it's working again.

Thanks Vadi - a friend of mine who is very experienced using Ubuntu was helping me try to figure it out - he was thinking it was something to do with Gnome, but before he could start walking me through some checks it started working. I'm very happy it's working, but I guess we'll never know why.
