Lost Audio > 8.04

I just upgraded my Dell Inspiron e1525 to Ubuntu 8.04 and lost all audio capability. I use this laptop as a "radio station" for listening to (chiefly) theclasicalstation.org. How do I get this back? (And, yes, I've installed all the "bad" and "ugly" gstreamer codecs...).

I just want my music back!
