Hello everyone,

I have some kind of issue with some of my sound files (.mp3) that I have downloaded from several web sites.

What's the issue?

Well, after downloading files, as I do usually, I set correct song details like author name, song name, album, etc. but these details want stay permanent. Every time I start again my RhytmBox Music Player.

1.jpe
As shown in 1.jpe I can change file name and that is fine

2.jpe
As shown in 2.jpe these are details MusicBox actually read from the file that I cannot change permanently...

I didn't have this issue some time ago when I used Windows Media Player. As far as I remember in Windows you can even edit .mp3 files by simply doing right click on any...what is not the case in Ubuntu, it just do not let me even to see all song details.

So, anyone would like to help...

I found the answer somewhere else...

I didn't know actually what is "id3" - with that I would easily solved my issue by my self...

Now, I'm using "MusicBrainz - Picard" http://musicbrainz.org/, for editing and changing .mp3 tags.

It can be easily installed from add/remove applications.

I use EasyTAG. It is so easy to use and allows you to choose what version you want to tag in.

Search for EasyTag in the software center.
