I am running a dual-boot XP and Ubuntu 7.10 on a Dell Inspiron 1520.

Everything is working well, except I can't connect to my wireless network. I go to System -> Administration -> Network, and there's no "wireless connection" option. It works on my XP installation fine, so I know it's not a problem with my router or anything.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you need more information, please ask.

I was able to get Hardy with Broadcom wireless working on my XPS laptop (dual booted with XP also) by checking out the "networking and wireless" link in the forum home page. I don't know which wireless you have in there, but most of the Dells seem to have the troublesome Broadcom wireless chips in them. If that's so, you might check out this link:

The fix there is specifically for Hardy Heron (8.04) but it may give you some other links to check.

As a newb myself, I found it's important to read LOTS before you start playing around with settings or you could get burned. Most folks here are extremely helpful, unlike a few other Linux forums I've been to.
