Hi guys
I've got an old desktop that I was thinking on turning onto a station where I can back up important files now and then, ie pictures, important videos.
I just don't know where to start and appreciate if someone could point out where to do some reading/research.
There're two laptops and a desktop in my house's wireless network.
kind regards
sokol

If you want to backup by hand then you can always archive the files and send them to the backup machine by ssh.

If you want automatic backups, I remember seeing a lot of scripts in this forums for backups so search this forum for backups. If you are intersted in file synchronization then have a look at

http://www.linux.com/feature/117236

and search this forum for rsync.

I use Ubuntu server ed. as a backup/file server at my home office, I don't use rsync, yet, but try looking into Samba. There are a lot of tutorials out on setting it up.
