Hi guys.

Recently i've been trying to get XP installed on Q. I think every evening of this week. And no success. When i had used some earlier version it has worked for me. But now it keeps crushing and crushing. So i tough to maybe use Parallels. But it's proprietary as far as i know.
So how much does it costs or maybe there are some other alternatives. Some advice anyone?

Have a nice day.

You can try virtualbox.

I don't use a Mac, but VMware has a Mac version for most of their programs and I like any of their products more than VirtualBox.

Hi agane guys.

That's amasing. How mutch faster VirtualBox is compared to Q. Once i choosed Q because of it's fully Open Source. But now i dont really have time to sit hours after the computer to get it working so it have to just work for me. And it looks like VirtualBox have just done it for me. Once i'll try VMWare also, i think. But for now, thx for the advice with VirtualBox. :)

Have a nice day.

I've used vm fusion on a mac (leopard) with zero problems. Shame you have to pay for it though.

Do you have an intel mac? One free option is Bootcamp, it comes with Leopard. You can run windows from a windows partition.

I personally use VMWare Fusion because I got a deal from aladdin systems.

Try Parallels. IMO, it offers the best Windows virtualization under Mac OS X. Coherence mode is pretty ingenious. Take a look at it. On a side note, to virtualize Linux, VMWare appears to do a better job.

I use Parallells and it works great. I've tried WindowsXP, Ubuntu & Slackware and it all works without any problems at all.

Another thing you might want to think about is upgrading the amount of ram in your computer. I went from 1gb to 3gb and it really was a world of diffrence.

Hi agane guys.

About BootCamp. Yes, i've used it to install 8.04 on a second partition. But dirty M$ wont get natively on my hardware. Only virtualized. And as i see on Youtube, Parallels is quite great, but VirtuaBox is doing it's job better then i could expect so this is the way for me atm.

Have a nice day!
