What's the best way to share an off-site Ubuntu-related HOWTO article with forum members?

I know that it doesn't belong in the "Tutorials & Tips" because "Posts that contain only links to offsite pages or blog posts" are not considered tutorials (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=840031).

Since my article concerns encryption, I thought it might belong in "Security Discussions" so I made a post here:

I'm not sure if that was correct. Anyway, I'm new to the forums and want to contribute to the Ubuntu community. Any guidance from experienced members would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, that's the correct place for that link. Another acceptable place to put a link to an off-site tutorial is in your signature. As you noted, though, the Tips & Tutorials section is only for original and complete content.
