[SOLVED] Can't login with my username

Hi - I have no idea what has happened - but while I was logged in I got logged out somehow - I didn't do it myself, there is no-one else here and I asume as the building isd new that there are no ghosts :)

When I try and login I get the "You have entered an invalid username or password." message - can someone help me out please.

I've had to make a new user so I can post here and I want my old one back.

Try clearing cookies (and cache for the heck of it), and try logging in again.

I'll go see what your account looks like...

Ok - things are going from bad to worse now, I assume that because I used the same e-mail address for the forestpixie2 as for the forestpixie account had they have both been dealt with.

This new(er) account is at a different e-mail address so hopefully I will be ok for a little while.

If and when it gets sorted out there are a couple (or 3 I set another one up with someone elses e-mail address I guess :oops: ) of new accounts to deal with.

I would like to have my forestpixie account back please :D

these can be got rid of if possible (once I'm back with the original account :D )

Ahh, its aight. LaRoza is right on top of things, and if nothing else, I'll change my user name to "okthinkigivingup2"...lol pun intended!
I was in the middle of writing that post in the testimonials when I clicked back over to this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=840095 thread, and noticed your info had changed. so made a report, and answers came faster than I could figure out how to get them. Thanks again LaRoza!

just out of curiousity whats up with "forestpixie"? I always wonder about nicknames, and that one is intresting as any.
Mine is just that I have a tattoo that used to be 3 crosses on a mountain, when I was 17, lol...at age 37 it just(looks like it) says Dutch...oh my initials D.L. on either side, would be the D and h(L). guess you'd really just have to see it. too much history to cover now.

Don't worry. An admin will have to fix it, so that may take some time, but you are most likely safe :-)

As for deleting the other accounts, I think you should keep them just in case...

If for some reason there is no way to get the other one back fully, I am sure an admin will give you a custom title/bean count to make up for your loss.

Well, we are getting tougher on new users. I expect you to be fully aware of forum protocol and procedures and know the rules to a t.

I was merely taking into account that you were randomly locked out, and assuming it won't happen again isn't that wise.

I'm guessing that it was an accidental thing at the same time as the other account closure, perhaps you're right though - best to let the dust settle a little and see what happens.

Well, you could backup pm's, images uploaded to albums and attachments but that is about it.

No, you just want to be able view your own attachments in your profile (go to your User CP, and you will see the option to view your attachments and albums)

Oh I was never really angry - guessing it happened with regard to the sad thread so couldn't be really, just a bit :confused: to start with.

Oh yea - never noticed that - perhaps it's because Matthew had to give me a custom title - as I had gone backwards to 0 beans again - when this forestpixie was forestpixie2.

Which is really confusing for me :D

When forestpixie was closed accidentally - half way through a post I might add, I made forestpixie2 so I could psot to find out what had happened.

Then eventually Matthew told me that they couldn't bring the old forestpixie back, at that point I had the normal spilled the beans etc bean image.

He then changed my account so that this new forestpixie2 is now called forestpixie, gave me my custom title and also the join date to when I actually joined last year.

So there are now 2 forestpixie's appearing on the forum - this one which is active and the old one which shows as guest.

I think they know the bean count and I guess the thanks I had originally, but I'm not too worried about the bean count, it'd be nice to get the thanks - but I know how many I had roughly, those who did the thanking know they did and I guess people who saw me about would have seen if they looked so... I'm still me doing as I did before and I guess will still get thanked again if people want to.

Edit - I just remembered the BIG thing about giving me my post count back - Matthew said that when they next did maintenance it would revert to the 'new' real count, rather than the real old one. Then I'd end up back at square one - and all of the last few days would of been forgotten I suspect :)

It takes a bit to show up when you change it sometimes I see (caches have to be reset, databases reset, etc)
