Im trying to copy a dvd using Brasero but I get this error.
impossible to find a format for the temporary image (brasero_burn_record burn.c:2270)

I only have 1 drive so I'm trying to make an .iso then burn it.

Can I use a different program perhaps?
Gnomebaker?

Try Gnome-Baker and see if it works. It seems to me that you are experiencing a known bug with Brasero. Check this link for more info:

Gnome-Baker will Write/Copy DVDs and CD's. I'd say its worth a shot to try.

k3b will also do it... i know it's technically for kde, but it's a really good program and it's available through add/remove programs

I've used k3b before and been very pleased with it.

K3b can't burn encrypted dvds which is pretty much everything.

k9copy just crashes.

I don't know what to do

SO no ones figured out that bug in Brasero?

Are you trying to backup a movie DVD?

If you want a commercial option Nero-Linux is very nice as well.
