So I have verrrry little experience with partitions and all that junk I have used Ubuntu before using the Wubi installer and it worked great and I really liked it.

Now I am pretty fed up with the amount of complete junk I have on my Xp right now and figured I would reformat soon. I would really like to install Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows Xp again all in one shot so If you could please post what I need to do to make this work

such as what partitions I need to make? what format they need to be in? is it easier to do one before the other? ect

I would like to beable to access files on both OS's if that is possible

links are fine to

thanks in advance:)

I recommend you read the 'Just Beginning' section of http://psychocats.net/ubuntu/index.php.

You'll want to install WinXP first, Ubuntu second. WinXP's partition will be NTFS. Ubuntu gives you a choice of file systems to use; for a beginner I suggest ext3.
