Hey, does anyone know how to route ip using the Netgear GS716T switch? Or know how to set up the switch in general? Basically I need port 80 to go server specific server.

Thanks for any advice/hints/

This looks like a layer 2 switch... so it will not do ip routing.

Sigh, so what else do I have to buy to route ports and give out ip?

A firewall perhaps?

A firewall perhaps? Can layer 2 give out IP address or do I need DHCP server for that?

Sorry this is my first real network I'm setting up by myself and I'm a little lost.

If you only have a few computers (one network) behind a cable / DSL connection, then you just need a router. You can buy those at any computer / electronics store, and they cost as cheap as $40.
