Hi

I have the latest update 8.04(?). My system sees wireless chip/card
on my laptop, but I cannot enable it. HP laptop, dv2200.

Ok, you have the Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev 01) for your wireless card.
