Hi!

Using samba to share files between my ubuntu server (latest and greatest) and my two mac os x leopard clients. Everything is working fine and performance is alright.

Some filenames and directories are however garbled and looks something like: CH62WJ~X

This is probably because an illegal character like \ is part of the name.

Is there some way to fix this? I don't want to rename all my folders (even though it probably would be pretty easy to make a script doing this) because I add files from the server all the time.

Can samba remap the illegal characters to something else or what to do?

Rgds
