Hi all,

Brand new Dell Inpsiron 1720 running hardy heron 8.04. The integrated creative webcam is not detected.

I've followed a number of other threads for integrated webcam problems on dells but no joy. I have tried installing easycam2 and cheese.

Any suggestions? I've tested the hardware successfully on vista.

Thanks,
Nathan

I have the exact same issue - sort of. Running Ubuntu Studio here. I can get a video capture with xawtv but, in the Flash player never. The blue camera light flashes and thats about all you'll get.
Any ideas???

I just got a Dell 2208WFP UltraSharp Monitor with the integrated webcam and microphone. I'm having the same issue. Hook it up. Little blue light flashes but Ubuntu isn't seeing it.

dell xps m1330 and same issues when trying to access webcam via flash 9 plugins.

I have a camera monitor program that tells me when the camera is on and it detects the camera as being on but it doesn't want to send any pics :(
