View Full Version : [ubuntu] Changing flash of brown screen before/after gdm

I've changed my Ubuntu to make it very much non-brown. However I get a brief flash of brown/beige with the gnome 'idle' cursor before and after the gdm login screen.
I'd prefer this to be something anonymous like black. I guess it's just a change in the 'default' colour somewhere, but I can't work out where!

System > Administration > Login Window
Under the Local tab you can select the color you want :)

Oh yes.. I knew it was somewhere. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=753261&highlight=wallpaper+on+login) tutorial explains how to have your current wallpaper display instead of a blank color immediately after login, thus creating relatively seamless transition from GDM to desktop. (props to kirsis for the tutorial)
Hope that helps.

Thanks, but that seems more effort than it's worth. Black is fine.. the brown just clashed a bit with my green desktop.
