Hello, I set up VNC via SSH using a guide on these forums. I've had it working before, a few weeks ago. I'm now off to work away for a couple of weeks and decided to test it using my networked Windows XP machine.

Now, I can't get PuTTy or WINSCP to connect at all using my global IP address. I can SSH into Ubuntu from within itself (ssh 127.0.0.1 -p 6881) and have just discovered I can SSH into Ubuntu using it's local IP address from the WinXP machine.

Last time I tested this on my networked PC I could SSH into Ubuntu using my global IP address (and my dynDNS host), why is it not working now and most importantly is it going to work from a remote computer?

EDIT: Solved! I've just rediscovered the fact that the router my ISP gave me is really, really, really bad. A reset was required.
