How do you get forum searches a bit more selective?
I keep trying to find out if there is any sort of boolean selection available to stop pages of irrelevant stuff coming up. So far I've not found anything and nothing I have tried seems to work.
Putting Or or AND in a search just finds and or or in the text; + seems to have no effect.
e.g. looking for the phrase iced bun should be easy and produce few irrelevant hits but every page with iced diced sliced and or bun bunny bunnies etc comes up.
If others have the same trouble as me is that why so many posts seem to have a 'this has already been covered, why did you start a new thread' type of comment in them.
Am I being really stupid? Is there a clever trick I am missing? Is it a vain hope?

I very rarely use the general forum search and only do so to search by username. The only time I use froum searches within a forum is if it is a forum which is small - like the intrepid one and search within it only.

The rest of the time I use either ubbontu.com, googlubuntu.com or google itself with site:ubuntu.forums in the search.
