unable to setup a local vcn connection

Hi,
I tried to access my linux box by a mac by a vnc connection, on my lan.
My client (apple remote desktop) said that the authentication failed.
I didn't setup any password in the remote dektop server prefernces.
Any ideas?

AH yes ....Apple mac has to be old what protocol to use.
step one: try and connect to a share on your ubuntu box and vice versa.
step two: Use ubuntu to connect to apple and vice versa (RDP).....i will try it on my lan as well.
I got the same infrastructure!!!!

I'd never had a problem connecting using saba (linux to mac and vice versa).
I don't understand the protocol problem.
