Hello!

I've just downloaded Mugen for Linux and I really wanted to play DC (comics) characters. I've downloaded few but not all of them seem to work cause when I pick them Mugen turns itself off....

I've also downloaded a screenpack Marvel vs. DC bu I have no idea how to run it...I've searched the forum for a thread like that but it seems there is no such thread like that. Please Help Me!

Thank You.

I'd get a better (or at least some) answer on a MUGEN forum ;)

I'm guessing some screenpacks only work on windows version :(

Hi, I know exactly what you're talking about. When I originally made the switch to Ubuntu/Linux; I found most characters didn't work, and some screen-packs and levels are configured only for Windows.
Because the majority of Mugen players use Windows, it puts us at a disadvantage.

If you want to try and use you Screenpack, then put the downloaded-folder inside the 'Data' folder. The open up Data/Mugen.cfg (open the file as text).
Then look for the following, and add accordingly:

Motif = data/(Put screenpack file name here)/system.def

Then save and exit. Try running mugen, and if it doesn't start......contact me. If your feed up, and just want a Linux version pre-tweeked, I could e-mail you my
'old-school Street Fighter 2' mugen remake. It runs fine, but can sometimes mess with the sound.

p.s. Hope this response isn't to late :)

I was also just reading into another Forum, and someone mentioned that they were having trouble opening Mugen.

There's a comment there: left by Snide. It's about disabling 'AppArmor', hope this helps.

you can run winmugen in wine though for me there is no sound and it crashes some times if enough ppl suggest it at wine's appdb then it might get more compatible so we can use all chars.
cuz omega tom hanks is to powerful it crashes when i try to use him. :(
linmugen isn't as improved as winmugen cuz linmugen is older there for less compatible with most screenpacks and chars.
so our best bet is tweaking wine's registry with trial and error or voting it to be more compatible with wine.

there is a native linux version of mugen. (there may be more than one port). if memory serves me one of them is called jmugen. (j for java as it is coded in java to make it cross platform).
