Hi everybody,
I recently upgraded to ubuntu 8.04 and had some problems with my mic. I tried various settings (almost randomly) in volume control, alsamixer etc and eventually it seems to work. The problem is that only one user has the correct settings, while the other does not.
I assume that volume control saves its settings (sound levels, mute etc) for each user separately, so I was thinking to make a copy of the user that has a working mic to the other.
Thank you very much!!!
P.S. I would like to learn some more on how linux deals with sound. Any suggestions where to start from?
