Hi!
I am looking to run other versions of Linux (such as OpenSolaris and React OS). I would like to know a good, free VM app that will run well on Ubuntu 8.04 (I would also like to know if it is in the repositories).
Thanks!

both VirtualBox and VMware work well in Linux, both take some configuring though. good luck though.
ps. i don't think either are in the repos

I'd try VirtualBox I haven't used it on Gusty yet, but it worked well in previous versions (even though it is KDE). It may/may not be in the repositories (I'm too tired to check), but if not, a Google search'll turn it up...

The Open Source Edition of VirtualBox is in the repo's.
I think you need to download the full version from their site in order to have USB support, more info here - http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Editions

VirtualBox is great. I don't think Solaris works with it though.

If you want the closest to native speed KVM is the best. It requires that your hardware can support it though. Otherwise I have always liked VMware over VirtualBox.
