help on setting up Evolution and Pidgin in wireless network with proxy

Hello.. I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I was able to use Evolution-gmail at home(broad band). Now I am at my college using wifi with proxy. Please help me to set up

1. Pidgin
2. Evolution - gmail
