mp3s won't play, no video sound(offline), youtube can't play videos

Ok, this all started when I removed the java that comes with the ubuntu-restricted-extras, and installed the lastest one from there site. While this fixed one problem it also caused a few.

Please ask for more information if needed.

It seems like you removed more than just java. Ubuntu restricted extras has the codec to play mp3 and the proper flash player. Not sure about the no sound though. Did you have sound to begin with?

I have sound in Java (runescape.)
