I would like to be able to change my username for the forums, but am not able to find an option to do that in the user control panel?

Do you know how to do this?

Many thanks,

Tom

You can't. It's right there in the FAQ. :)

If you like, you can create a new account with the new name. Please notify the staff if you intend to do this, as the current account would need to be disabled.

Thank you for the reply!

I don't think that it explicitly mentions this in the 'FAQ'.

I would like to disable my current account and set up a new one with the same e-mail address, should I just send an e-mail using the 'contact us' form?

Many thanks,

Tom

As stated by p_quarles You cannot have you forum name changed.

Can I change my username?

No. Usernames can not be changed - dashes can not be added, lowercase cannot be made uppercase, etc. However, you may choose to create a new account. The only exceptions to this are extreme cases, such as when a user has been harassed by another user.

Note: If you do make a new account, you will have to transfer all information yourself, as we will not do this for you. Also, we can't transfer your statistics (beans, account age and the like) to the new account.

Since you want the old account disabled, and retain the use of your email you are best off sending a PM to one of the Admin's listed below.
