Unfortunately, I find the Ubuntu forums are either slow or slower at loading.

I wonder what other people's experiences are and how this relates to location.

Where are the Ubuntu Forum servers? Does anyone know?

My internet is being super wierd today...i think FF3 is being dumb. Everything opens and runs in Opera, but pages in FF3 just time out all the time

I had this problem.

I just disabled ip v6 and it was fine after that ;)

P.s

You may not like vim if not you can use gedit. Just change:

sudo vim /etc/modprobe.d/aliases

to

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/aliases

:)

They are under Canonical's control, which is located in the UK if I recall correctly.

Ever now and then, ubuntu forums is slow.

Most of the time it's just for a minute or two, but still.

Ubuntu forums has always been slow. But lately load time on dialup is excruciating! Yes, I did the ipv6 thing a long time ago.

The last few days I read a 60+ page thread. I estimate about 30% of time spent was coaxing pages to load fully. I would come here more often if it weren't so painful.

Hmmmm... just a curious aside: while I was reading this thread someone rang us from their mobile to let us know they were waiting at the front door, and my network disconnected momentarily. I wonder if my wireless router being near two cordless phone base units had anything to do with it.....

Doubt it as it would be against EU-BSA regulations for different radio bands/frequencys to interfere with one and other. I can only assume this would be the same for other country's.

You can always change your wireless channel in your router config.

Here in the UK the forums are sometimes very slow to load pages, but I guess that's just times when there's more traffic.
