I would like to install Ubuntu onto my laptop. I have a HP pavilion, 100gb hda, 1 gb mem. I am not ready to get rid of XP just yet. I was trying to install Ubuntu onto my laptop and it said that it would destroy all data.
How can I set up dual boot on my laptop?
thanks in advance for your help.

I followed this howto. http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/
(But I used Kubuntu LiveCD, you,ll get the idea in the tuto).
Hope this helps you.

I used the partition manager on the Ubuntu 8.04 live cd to resize my XP partition then created the new Ubuntu partitions in the new space, however the easiest way is to use the "install inside windows" option that is available when the live cd is loaded under XP.
