I just recently bought a TRENDnet TEW-423PI wireless adapter card, hoping that I could (hopefully) connect to a wireless network around my house. Unfortunately they were all locked, so I thought of using aircrack or airsnort, and found out you need a certain chipset, for it to work. So I tried to find out my cards chipset, but that proved harder than it seemed. I looked everywhere, even called the manufacturer, but had to stop because I could barely understand the guy with his accent.

So my goal is to get a good wireless card that no one has had trouble with, in Ubuntu, and airsnort/aircrack. (if possible give me an opinion about which is better airsnort or aircrack)

give me as much as you know about the card, or if you know my card is good enough. Any help would be much appreciated!
