Hi, I am very new to Ubuntu, and am having a few problems with my sound.
I have tried to look for a solution (for quite some time), but everything I find is very confusing as I am still not used to the system at all. An "idiots guide" would be much appreciated.
I am using an HP Compaq DC7100 (I know, but I got given it free when my old system broke and I got this free at short notice).
Basically I have an internal speaker and the usual headphone, line in and microphone sockets. When I play any sound, it comes from the internal speaker, as opposed to coming out the speakers I have plugged into the headphone socket. I have tried changing every sound setting I can possibly find and NOTHING seems to change it. Please help, it's driving me up the wall.
