Hey all,

I have an HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop with ubuntu 8.04 installed. The laptop has some multimedia buttons above the keyboard, such as volume, mute, play/pause, etc. The strange thing is, when I try to change the volume with these controls, a volume icon comes up on the screen, indicating the volume change. However, the actual system volume does not change at all... Does anyone know why this isn't working? It seems as though ubuntu is recognizing it, but it doesn't actually do anything.

Suggestions?
Thanks :)

sorry I cant tell you much, but they worked out of the box in mine in Kubuntu HH.
I thinked I installed something in K-GG (maybe kmilo or keytouch or both)

ok, so I tried keytouch, and it sortof works, except that it doesn't include my exact keyboard. So, I installed the keytouch editor package, to make a file for my specific keyboard. However, when I try to run the keytouch editor, I get the following error:
Failed to execute child process "/usr/bin/su-to-root" (No such file or directory)
What on earth does that mean?

sorry, no idea, I hadnt have to make my own keyboard file.
I think I got em working with kmilo.
