Ive been using this Hardy for some time now I started with it and im getting annoyed by all the bugs it has, So I have been considering on going to an older version...from what i can tell people seem to be saying 7.10 is the best release so far...why is that and what do you suggest?
-Thanks

People will love Hardy after some time.
There is always a period which requires adapting, after a new release.
Hardy is the best one IMO.

Of the two versions I've tried so far Gutsy is better for Ubuntu, Hardy for Kubuntu and Xubuntu.
I tried Hardy Ubuntu and got hard lockups every time I tried to watch videos in Firefox (3b5). Hardy was better for me in that wireless seems to have improved support.
Hardy Xubuntu seems to be fine and I've had no problems with it on my old prehistoric desktop.

Please realize this is most likely something with your settings/hardware not being liked. On the right hardware Hardy is by far the most stable yet.
For example many people say Gutsy is the best yet on my laptop it was terrible (difference in hardware apparently). Yet Hardy works wonderfuly (Kubuntu better than Ubuntu). I am currently running 64-bit Kubuntu Hardy and have had no issues to speak of, generaly I find Gnome messes up more than KDE but thats just me.
In other words the best way to find the most stable flavor for your laptop is to pop in some liveCDs and give it a spin. Also you may want to try Linux Mint (heavily based on ubuntu but many more bugs are worked out that Ubuntu team misses). Good luck!

Ubuntu 5.04 (Hoary Hedgehog) was the stablest one I've seen yet - rock solid. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it to you, as it no longer receives security updates.

Sorry, but I'd have to disagree--7.10 has never really worked right for me; it kept giving me display problems, and I found it very hard to set up wireless networking.
On some machines it worked great, but on quite a few other systems that I tried, it simply wasn't worth the hassle--which is the reason why I stayed with 7.04, until 8.04 came along.

7.10 is no better than 8.04 in general (it might be for specific hardware setups). People just like to gripe every time a new release comes out, especially an LTS one.

I fond Hardy phenominal - not that the previous versions were bad, just not quite as good.
It's nice to see Ubuntu becomeing more polished, powerful and user friendly with each version.

Every release of Ubuntu (or linux for that matter) is a little buggy, and yes, you will have to go out of your way a bit more than you would windows in order to "customize" it.
However, the more "bugs" I have to deal with, the more I learn about linux, and the less time it takes me to fix new bugs, if they arise.

I thought Feisty was the most stable, but its ending its support life, so don't bother with it. If you don't like Hardy go with Gutsy, Mine is rock solid.

Warthy Wardog was the best, because it was the first one!

The best version of Linux is the one thats installed on your Hard Drive.
If its not the best version of Linux, then install a different version on your Hard Drive, eventually you will find the best version.
I'd tell you what the best version is, but it wouldn't help much because its on my Hard Drive not yours :)
Okay all smart-asterik comments aside.
So far I think that Hardy has been very excellent, there were a few hiccups, but they were sorted out quickly, and I am very happy with it. I'd say its my favorite to date.

I liked Edgy the most because it had lots of new features yet it was very stable.
