Hi everybody... im having a BIG problem.... I was trying to connect my laptop to my TV to watch a movie... I edited my xorg.conf file to do it.. and everythig worked perfectly... after that, i got my original xorg.conf setting, and did a ctrl+Alt+Backspace... Gnome started... Compiz started... i could see all my icons for like 10 secs.... and suddenly... xserver got TILT.. i could listen my "skype connecting sound", but the screen was complete freezed... I forced reboot, and since that, ive never seen ANYTHING on my screen again! computer seems to work, but the screen is complete BLACK... not OFF, BUT BLACK.... not even the HP logo! i still listening the beep sound to enter my startup password, and i can see the hard drive led working... ive tryed Ctrl+Alt+F1... and even using a Windows installed hard drive... but my screen still black...
I been using my laptop with Ubuntu 7.10 , since it came out, and ive never any problem! this is the first time it happens to me!
please anybody help me!!!
by the way, my laptop is a HP Pavilion dv9000, with a Nvidia Geforce Go 7600, 2 gigs ram, and a HD of 120 Gb...
