did an update and rebooted now I have permision problem

the error I have after reboot is "user $home /.dmrc file is being ignored this prevents the default season and launguage from being saved file should be owned by user and have 644 permissions user home directory must be own by user and not writeable by others"

not sure what happened but how do I fix this, I had to boot with the live cd to be able to post this

post the outputs of ls -l .dmrc and ls -l ..

thanks for replys I am wondering what causes this anyway I am going to try this first and see what happens
