Doom 3 surround sound is not working :(

Anyone knows what the problem is?

I know that surround sound is working in xine when i'm playing movies.

Ok i fixed the problem by typing this

doom3 +set s_alsa_pcm surround51

But the wierdest thing that my center is the surround channel and my surround channel is the center i have to switch the plugs on my soundcard

What soundcard do you have?

I have one and I am afraid that is I switch to Ubuntu it won't work... especially since my motherboard has onboard sound....

I have audigy 2 zs i have no problem in gnome, surround sound works in xine but i haven't got it to work with mplayer and gstreamer totem

i can say one thing doom 3 works much much better under linux fps wise

Ok somethinh is wierd i'm playing in Ultra Quality 1600*1200 16FSAA hmm and it's fast something must be wrong

Is there any limit on the linux version on settings

EDIT: yepp FSAA AF doesn't seem to activate in doom 3 i have to that in nvidia settings instead

Yea I have that exact card I think... good to know it works in Linux.

Did you have to do anything fancy to get it to work?

hrm, weird. My surround sound works when running a speaker test, but not in games or movies even though I specify the surround51 plugin. I'd also like to know what else you changed, especially since I have that exact card.
