How does Ubuntu 8.04 work on a new Mac Book?

I am thinking about getting a new Apple Macbook. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how Ubuntu runs on one, pro's and con's.And whether it's worth it to invest in a new macbook or do PC's run Linux that much better?

If you are not planning to use OS X at all, I would recommend getting something more compatible.
